By the Grace of God and Della Apostolic
Bishop of Ischia
- Having been heard, through the means of social communication and the information gathered at the People of God that is in Ischia, of alleged supernatural phenomena related to the Virgin Mary, in place for two decades on the territory of the Diocese, in the area commonly referred to as "Zaro ", in the municipality of Forio;
- Having at heart the spiritual welfare of God's people who are in Ischia;
- Consulted the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith;
- Given the "Rules of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on the way forward in judging the alleged apparitions and revelations" issued February 25, 1978 and published by the same Congregation December 14, 2011;
with this decree, in the exercise of my ministry as a pastor and teacher, in order to a discernment of the alleged facts,

I chair, and also composed of the following people:
Fr. Luigi Ortaglio OFM, professor of canon law, Vice President
Sac. Francesco Asti, of spiritual theology professor
Prof. Alfonso Langella, teacher of Mariology
Father Salvatore Perrella, OSM, teacher of Mariology
P. Gian Matteo Roggio MS, professor of Mariology
Sac. Ignatius Schinella professor of moral theology
P. Mihály Szentmartoni SJ, psychiatrist
The rev.do sac. Gaetano Pugliese, Bishop's Chancellor, he was appointed Secretary of the Commission.
Anyone who can provide useful information about the alleged facts, may contact the President of the Commission.
I ask the whole Church of God which is in Ischia to accompany with prayer the work of the Commission, because it can help to shed light on the phenomena mentioned above and, in this regard, be offered to the faithful the appropriate indications.
