CELEBRATION OF THE EUCHARIST IN THE FONTANELLE DI MONTICHIARI LOCATION

It is announced that on 5 May 2001 the Bishop of Brescia, Mons. Giulio Sanguineti, approved the "Directory for Marian worship in the Fontanelle di Montichiari (BS) area" and ordered that it be made public.

Regarding the celebration of the Eucharist at n. 5 of the pastoral indications, it is stated that «the eventual celebration of the Eucharist on the spot is never left to the arbitrariness neither of the laity responsible for the locality, nor of the adventitious priests, nor of particular groups of the faithful. The actual necessity of the celebration will be verified by the Rev. Don Emilio Treccani, diocesan priest in charge of the cult of the Fontanelle ».

the Eucharist is celebrated only on Sundays in the afternoon at 18.00

The celebrated priest is Don Emilio Treccani

the priests who accompany the groups can either concelebrate at 6.00 pm, or celebrate either in the churches of the neighboring parishes, or at the nearby church known as the "Madonnina"

for the celebration we follow the indications of the liturgical calendar in force in the diocese of Brescia

the Bishop, recognizing these provisions as necessary, makes them obligatory

Since the Eucharist, as recalled by the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, is the culmination towards which the action of the Church and the source from which all its virtue emanates and is always celebrated in communion with the Pope and the Bishop of the local Church, only adherence to these provisions makes authentic the celebration of the Mass at Fontanelle. Otherwise a liturgical offense would be carried out that is different from the indications of the Bishop successor of the Apostles.

Only fidelity to these provisions contributes to retaining the place «Fontanelle» as a place of animation of the cult of the Virgin Mary.
